President of the Republic, Ilir Meta held a meeting this Sunday, with the three EU Foreign Ministers in the presidency.

Meta assessed the next Slovenian presidency of the EU as an opportunity for the country and the region, focusing on the importance of the opening of negotiations in Albania.

“It is a pleasure to meet with the representatives of the countries of the "Group C5" headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Mr. Anze Logar, who will chair the next Presidency of the European Union, from July 2021.

I praised the traditional friendship between these countries and Albania, thanking them especially for the friendly and continuous assistance and support they give to Albania in the European integration process.

Evaluating the future Slovenian Presidency of the EU as a favourable opportunity for our country and for the whole region, I underlined the importance of the opening of Albania's membership negotiations and the rapid progress in this process.

Wishing that all joint efforts for the implementation of reforms as well as for a positive European decision-making reap quick success, I once again thanked the three countries for their sincere and persistent support", writes Meta.
