Public Spending Up by Annual 11.5% in Jan-April

The total public spending reached Lek 207.87 billion in the January-April period, achieving fulfillment of the plan for this period of 94.3%.

According to statistics published by the Ministry of Finance, compared to the same period in 2024, spending has increased by 11.5%, or about Lek 21.49 billion more.

Current spending for this period was realized at Lek 193.02 billion, marking an increase of 13.1% compared to the previous year, or Lek 22.4 billion more.

This increase shows a continued commitment of the government to fulfill financial commitments and increase investments in key sectors of the economy.

In annual terms, expenditures for the first four months constitute 25.2% of the annual plan, indicating that by budget planning, there is a stable realization of planned expenditures for this year.

The Albanian government has been actively involved in financing several major projects, including infrastructure upgrades, renewable energy initiatives, and agricultural development programs. Key examples include the Durres-Rrogozhina railway upgrade, the Vora-Hani i Hotit railway electrification, and various projects under the EU's Reform and Growth Facility.
