Rama Renews Call for Dialogue With Students, Replaces Burned Chairs With Stone Table
Prime Minister Edi Rama has once again called for dialogue with protesting students, this time introducing a new setting outside the government headquarters in Tirana.
In a post on Facebook, Rama shared images of a stone table placed in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, with written invitations to dialogue laid out on its surface.
The move comes after students set fire to the chairs previously placed outside the building as part of the government’s efforts to initiate talks. Stones had also been placed outside the headquarters in recent days, as students continued to reject the invitation to engage in dialogue with the prime minister.
Rama’s latest gesture marks a change in the setting of his repeated appeal for talks, as tensions between the government and the protesting students continue.
