Tirana Court has decided this Saturday the security measure "arrest in prison" for the head of training at Special Forces RENEA, Altin Morina.

During the session on Saturday, Morina maintained the same position as in the preliminary testimony before the Judicial Police Officers that he took the sums of money from a businessman for a personal problem. 

But the Prosecutor's Office thinks otherwise, and there are doubts that the money may have come from criminal activity, that's why it asked the investigation on Morina to continue as he will remain in jail, a request accepted by the court. 

Three charges were brought against Morina, for money laundering, failure to declare assets and abuse of office. But this Saturday, the Prosecution went to trial only on the charge of money laundering. 

According to the defense, the only evidence brought by the prosecution was the money and some mobile phones. Sources from the Prosecutor's Office say that Morina has been under monitoring.

Altin Morina was caught driving an Audi Q8 type vehicle with 113 thousand euros, in Tirana a few days ago. 

"There is no evidence, I received this money from a businessman 30 minutes before the arrest. They do not come from criminal activity, I am ready to cooperate with the prosecuting authority to provide evidence related to personal and family reasons. There was no other person in my company at the time of the arrest. I was going home", he concluded.
