Rita Ora Confesses Discrimination due to Skin Color in Her Beginnings

The world-famous Albanian singer, Rita Ora, arrived on Sunday in Tirana, before the giant concert that will be held in "Skënderbej" square.

Rita Ora, accompanied by the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, visited the "Jordan Misja" Artistic High School. Many students from the lyceum were present there, who did not hesitate to ask questions and receive answers from the singer.

One of the participants in the hall asked Rita how she managed to penetrate the international market, when in fact she was Albanian. The 31-year-old answered that it was not very easy, since in the beginning people prejudiced her because of her origin, even because of her skin color.

"I'm Kosovar, I come from a country called Albania and it's actually a country full of wonderful people. And they were like, 'Yeah, but your skin… your skin is a little darker, you're not that white,' and I was like, What? Have you seen the people who come from my country? We are so exotic, we look like we come from different countries, we are beautiful inside, not just physically," said the singer.

She further revealed that she has always been proud of her origins since the early stages of her career, regardless of what others would say about her origins.
