Dibra county has been engulfed by very low temperatures and the thermometer in the city of Peshkopi and Bulqiza has marked -16 degrees this Tuesday.

Everything seems to have frozen, the movements have been significantly reduced. Deep areas have provided food base for livestock, and staple foods to spend the winter, and in these cold days do not move towards the city.

Although some of the roads connecting the city with the centers of the Administrative Units are open, many villages in remote areas continue to be blocked and without communication.

The Lure Administrative Unit is totally blocked from Dibra, while the communication is from Rrëshen. National roads are passable without problems, as they have been salted.

The use of chains is necessary in the axis Dibër - Librazhd, in the segment from Ostren to Stebleva and in the axis Peshkopi - Kukës from Ceren to Vasie, as there is snow and ice on the road.

Traffic police are stationed on problematic axes, they appeal to drivers to avoid problematic roads, avoid unnecessary movements and use winter tires and chains.

As a result of very low temperatures, the drinking water distribution network has frozen and most of the city of Peshkopi is without drinking water.

In the Regional Hospital of Dibra, during the last 24 hours, 11 cases have been reported with injuries and fractures after falling on the ice. There were no calls for health emergencies from remote areas.
