President of the Republic, Meta met this Friday with the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi and the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Bajram Begaj. 

The Presidency announces that during the meeting they shared the common concern with all our NATO partners about the threat of a possible Russian aggression against Ukraine, which would be a flagrant violation of international law. 

"President Meta underlined the importance of the most effective coordination with the Alliance, as well as taking measures to continue the reforms in order to further strengthen our defense capabilities," the presidency announced. 

In this context, "the completion and strengthening of the entire chain of command in the Armed Forces was assessed, in accordance with the rank-and-file system."
