Court of Elbasan accepted this Friday the request of the Prosecution to postpone the detention period for the Russian citizen Svetlana Timofeeva, accused of espionage.

Timofeeva appeared before the Elbasan Judicial District Court again after the request of the prosecution to extend the detention terms.

However, the defense objected as Timofeeva has served her pre-trial detention and should have been released from prison.

Court of Elbasan has accepted the request of the prosecution to postpone the term of the security measure, although the defense asked for the dismissal of the judge.

Timofeeva was arrested last August along with two other people on espionage charges.
