Situation Returns to Normalcy in Kosovo as Army Leaves Border

The KFOR (Kosovo Force) troops have already officially left the border crossing in Jarinje, after their two-week stay, as a result of the developments that took place with the measure of reciprocity with the license plates.

The presence of NATO international troops has not even been seen in the area. Days ago, the situation was tense and the roads to the border crossings in Jarinje and Brnjak were blocked by local Serbs in protest after the Government of Kosovo imposed a reciprocity measure for vehicles with Serbian license plates.

This situation had brought an agreement between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels which provided for the placement of KFOR troops in points 1 and 31 for two weeks and which will leave today, October 17, when local elections are held in Kosovo.
