Socialist Wins Second Term in Fier Municipality
Vote counting in the city of Fier has ended. Mayor Armando Subashi, who ran for the Socialist Party, has officially won another mandate at the head of this municipality.
He managed to win convincingly with 33,595 votes, against the rival of the "Together We Win" coalition, Evdar Kodheli, with 9,485 votes and the democratic candidate, Eriselda Çelaj, with 5,267 votes.
So, after the victory, he reacted by saying that he will focus on tourism and agriculture in the future.
"I hope the worst is behind us, so I like to quote PM Edi Rama: 'You haven't seen anything yet' in Fier.
We will focus on tourism and agriculture, we have important projects to implement in these sectors", said Subashi.
The city of Fier has been known for years as a bastion of the left wing and this local election maintained the same line.
