The Special Prosecutor's Office against Organized Crime and Corruption (SPAK) decided this Tuesday to seize the Tirana incinerator. 

Through an official press release, SPAK asserts that after the investigations carried out, it turns out that the "de facto" owners of the waste processing plant in Tirana are the citizens Mirel Mërtiri and Klodian Zoto. 

According to SPAK, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri have used other persons and companies to hide their tracks as the real owners of the concession company "Integrated Energy B.V SPV" sh.p.k. 

"It has been proven that citizens Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri are the people who instructed and took the decisions regarding the concession company "Integrated Energy B.V. SPV" sh.p.k. and the parent company in the Netherlands with the previous name "Integrated Energy B.V.", currently "Geogenix B.V.", which coincides from the moment of establishment of these companies and continues", announces SPAK. 

According to the Special Prosecutor's Office, the data administered up to this stage of the investigation, shows that the citizen Klodian Zoto, in cooperation with the citizen Mirel Mërtiri, have benefited thanks to forged tax invoices, the monetary value of 409,428,000 ALL, where the citizen Klodian Zoto has presented himself and declared falsified invoices for works performed through his other company "Integrated Energy Services" sh.p.k. 

SPAK claims that the fact that the citizens Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtiri indirectly own the company "F.M.O." sh.p.k. From the investigation, evidence was gathered that these citizens, using the illegal profits, bought on behalf of the entity "F.M.O." sh.p.k., a real estate, with an area of 611 m2, worth 1,000,000 Euros, located in the city of Durrës. 

Based on the request submitted by SPAK, GJKKO has placed Tirana's incinerator under seizure. 

The General Directorate of the State Police and the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets have been tasked with the execution of the decision of GJKKO on the sequestration of the incinerator. 

"The acceptance of the request of the Special Prosecutor's Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime and the imposition of the 'preventive sequestration' asset insurance measure on the assets as follows: 

The legal entity "Integrated Energy B.V. S.P.V.” sh.p.k., with Nipt L72031013B, with headquarters in Tirana, together with all real and movable assets owned by it. 

The legal entity "Integrated Technology Services" sh.p.k., with Nipt L02302032C, with headquarters in Tirana, together with the real and movable assets owned by it. 

Real estate owned by the company "F.M.O." sh.p.k., property type "unit", with an area of 611 m2, with an address in Durrës," SPAK informed.
