Star of Late Saimir Hoxha Placed at Memorial of National Martyrs
The star of the late police officer, Saimir Hoxha was placed this Thursday in the memorial in front of the Ministry of Interior together with over 264 other police martyrs.
Prime Minister Edi Rama held a short speech amid the rain promising that his children will never be alone. He recalled that it has been a long time since the last star was placed in the memorial, but he stressed that statistics do not matter as a single life is worth as much as all the others.
Present at the ceremony were senior officials of the government, the ministry and the family and relatives of the late police officer, Saimir Hoxha, despite today was raining a lot.
"Today we are here to hold the star-laying ceremony on the State Police memorial wall next to the stars of all the martyrs of our security forces in the arc of these years.
It is a long time since the previous star was placed and in a sense, it is a relief, that in all the multitude of those stars on that wall, in these years, the number of tragic cases is less than the fingers of one hand. Statistics, on the other hand, do not matter, because a single life is worth as much as all the lives lost.
I do not want to prolong because I believe that this torrential rain says better than all our words and feelings. I mean, however, I feel relief when I think the children of the martyr will not be alone. We will take care of them as we started until they reach the age of maturity and come out on their own two feet in life.
170% of the salary for the children does not say anything in relation to the losses, of course even those ALL 50 million do not say anything, but nevertheless, it is a relief to think that the children will be accompanied not only by the mother, grandparents but also by the state, will not miss anything as much as the father was alive, except his absence that no one can replace. Glory to the martyrs of the homeland that today is joined by the star of Saimir," declared Rama.
