Students Protest before PM’s Office against Vaccination-for-Education Rule

Morning of this Monday was accompanied by a clash at the doors of the universities of Albania, where in Tirana, in most of the faculties, unvaccinated students are not allowed to enter.

Around 10 o'clock, the students started the gathering in front of the Prime Minister Edi Rama's Office where they will oppose the decision to be left out of the auditoriums unless they have gotten or get the COVID-19 jab. They say that the right to education is a constitutional right, and cannot be alienated by any government decision.

As of this morning across Albania, Universities are taking different positions regarding the admission of unvaccinated students to the auditoriums.

In Elbasan, Gjirokastra, Korca, Durres unvaccinated students are allowed to enter the auditorium, while in Vlora, Shkodra and Tirana, unvaccinated students will not be allowed to enter classes physically.

Earlier today, Unvaccinated students were not allowed to enter the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and this led to clashes between them and security personnel, who have called for help and police officers.

Local media reported that students even blocked the car traffic near the Faculty of Natural Sciences (FSHN) in the Albanian capital, Tirana.

The students, revolted by the FSHN's decision not to allow them to enter the auditorium, have blocked the road, while there were many police officers in the area.
