Albania's Supreme Court has released the final list of candidates who meet the legal criteria to stand for election as members of the High Judicial Council (HJC), following the selection process launched on June 26, 2026, to fill three vacant seats.
Seven judges will compete for the positions. They are Arbena Ahmeti and Sandër Simoni from the Supreme Court, Igerta Hysi from the Special Court Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK Court), Fatri Islamaj from the Tirana General Court of Appeal, and Matilda Llangozi, Brunilda Kadi, and Manjola Xhaxho from the Tirana Court of First Instance.
Meanwhile, Supreme Court President Sokol Sadushi has scheduled the General Assembly of Judges for September 25, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., when judges will vote to elect the three new members of the High Judicial Council.
