Vodafone Albania and Nokia Showcase the Future of intelligent 5G Networks with AI-powered Network Slicing
Vodafone Albania, in partnership with Nokia, demonstrated one of the first AI-powered network slicing solutions within Vodafone Group, reinforcing Albania's role as an important innovation market for next-generation connectivity.
Developed together with Nokia, the solution combines Vodafone's 5G Standalone network with advanced artificial intelligence capable of analyzing both network conditions and real-world information to make autonomous decisions that optimize performance instantly. Rather than relying on predefined configurations, the network can intelligently allocate resources where they are needed most, helping deliver more efficient, resilient and differentiated connectivity.
This technology and business innovation represents an important milestone towards the future of intelligent networks and highlights how AI will increasingly become part of the infrastructure powering digital economies.
As digital services continue to expand and demand for connectivity grows, networks must evolve beyond simply carrying traffic. The next generation of mobile infrastructure will be able to understand changing conditions and automatically optimize network performance without manual intervention.
The AI-powered network slicing demonstration shows how future networks could dynamically respond to different situations, supporting applications such as:
· Reliable connectivity for businesses operating mission-critical services.
· Intelligent resource allocation during major public events, concerts and sporting occasions.
· Enhanced network resilience during unexpected demand peaks.
· Efficient management of network capacity through AI-driven automation
The demonstration reflects Vodafone Albania's ongoing commitment to investing in innovation and exploring technologies that will shape the next generation of digital infrastructure.
By bringing together connectivity and AI, Vodafone Albania and Nokia are helping prepare the foundations for future services that will benefit businesses, public institutions and society as digital transformation accelerates.
Balázs Révész, CEO of Vodafone Albania, said: “Innovation has always been central to Vodafone Albania's ambition to deliver the best possible connectivity experience. As demand for digital services continues to grow, intelligent networks will become increasingly important in delivering more resilient, efficient and adaptive connectivity. This demonstration reflects our commitment to exploring technologies that will help shape the future of digital infrastructure, while strengthening Albania's position as an innovation market within the Vodafone Group.”
“Agentic AI introduces a new level of intelligence into network slicing. By combining deep network insights with real-world contextual data, we enable networks that can infer, decide and act independently. Together with Vodafone Albania, we are demonstrating how this capability can unlock entirely new service models and drive the next wave of 5G innovation,” commented Pallavi Mahajan, Chief Technology and AI Officer at Nokia.
