Swiss Support to Skills Development & Employment in Albania

Developing skills for employment is crucial for a stronger economy in Albania. On 19-20th January, the Embassy of Switzerland organized a workshop on the upcoming Swiss support to Skills Development & Employment in Albania.

The Skills for Jobs (S4J) project implemented by Swisscontact, and Skills Development for Employment (SD4E) project implemented by UNDP both funded by the Swiss Development Cooperation have developed the third phases of their project implementation.

Both projects conducted technical consultations and validation with relevant stakeholders with a broad representation of SDC, Ministry of Finance and Economy, National Agency for Employment and Skills, National Agency on Vocational Education, Training and Qualifications, public and private VET providers, private sector representatives field experts, and academia.

The design of the new phases of the projects was inspired by and grounded in the National Employment and Skills Strategy 2030 and the Swiss Cooperation Programme Albania. Over the two days, approaches and details were presented and discussed with the purpose to validate the relevance and sustainability of the project results. Both projects are expected to start in July 2023 with a duration of four years.
