I never liked hafez cause he betrayed his country when he was minister of defense , his reward was to become  ruler , Bashar was not fair and betrayed his friends that helped him to stay in power , he was not flexible and wise enough to champion reforms that could've saved his throne . He fell victim to a major project by Israel , US , and Turkey that is changing the whole middle east. His lack of support and flip flops in his support to the resistance  that supported him in an attempt for self perseverance caused his fall.
Having said all that , I don't believe in the incoming controllers who are extremists and Assad's regime would be considered tolerant compared to the religious fanaticism  of these groups. 
The US allowed religious extremists to take over Iran and they've been selling weapons and syphoning oil for decades , Now they are allowing another extreme religious group in Syria that would guarantee oil syphoning and selling weapons.
The underlining superior goal is destroying any strong nation that is a threat to Israel expansion project & and they want security belt of weak powers around it's borders and be the dominant power in the region . So, next is Iraq and / or Egypt and of course Lebanon is always affected and was chosen as the headquarters of the middle east project . 
Life as we know it is changing all over the world and we keep inching towards a global war just because powers to be are greedy , don't want to play nice or share resources with the rest of humanity. But don't worry you can still go to heaven if you have blind faith or if you give your life up in the service of God.
