Those Investigated by SPAK Will Not Benefit from the 'Penal Amnesty'
The Minister of Justice, Ulsi Manja, clarified Wednesday that no one who is being investigated by the Special Prosecution against Corruption (SPAK) will not benefit from the 'penal amnesty'.
In a statement for the media, at the end of the Governments' meeting, Manja said that even those who were condemned for the crimes of honour or dignity or those who are in jail for domestic violence, will not benefit from the amnesty.
"Allow me to be clear! The amnesty on the criminal prosecution will be only for the offenses that are in the hands of the prosecutors and that are punishable up to 2 years in prison, for the criminal offense. But there are exceptions too. For example, offenses related to honor or dignity and domestic violence will not be amnestied. Amnesty has several principles on which it is based. One of the main principles is the principle of protecting the public interest," said Minister.
