U.S. Citizen Arrested in Tirana Following October 31 Anti-Government Protest

Another U.S. citizen has been arrested by Tirana police following the October 31 protest, on suspicion of involvement in violent clashes with law enforcement officers.

Kevin Radosevich, who is reportedly from California, is suspected of having been photographed distributing Molotov cocktails among protesters. However, police have not officially confirmed this specific allegation.

Radosevich is among six people arrested in connection with the violence. For the first time, all six detainees are facing a serious criminal charge: attempted murder of a police officer.

Authorities accuse the suspects of attacking police officers with Molotov cocktails, stones, pyrotechnic devices, and metal balls and screws fired using slingshots. Police also reported apprehending two young men in possession of Molotov cocktails.

Radosevich's arrest marks the second case involving a U.S. citizen detained during recent protests against Prime Minister Edi Rama's government.

On October 17, police arrested American national Julien Williams and Italian citizen Marko Benvenuto, both suspected of involvement in clashes with police officers. According to reports, both men have denied the allegations.

The arrests come amid heightened tensions following a series of anti-government demonstrations in the Albanian capital.
