U.S General Suspended for Mocking First Lady

The US military has suspended a general after it was claimed he mocked First Lady Jill Biden.

Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky, a former Army spokesman, responded to a post by Biden about the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade, in which the first lady remarked that women's rights had been "stolen".

Biden wrote on Twitter that "for almost 50 years, women have had the right to make the decisions. Today this right has been stolen from us."

Volesky replied: "I'm glad to see you finally know what a woman is."

Volesky's tweet has since been removed.

The Army suspended Voleski, who had signed a $92-an-hour contract to mentor active-duty officers, while it conducts an investigation, according to USA TODAY. Volesky previously commanded the 101st Airborne Division.
