UK-Coming Albanian Citizens Punished Severely for Not Self-Quarantining
Rinas Border Police has punished with the administrative measure of 700,000 ALL each 6 citizens, who violated the 14-day mandatory self-quarantine that must be performed by citizens coming from Great Britain.
The authorities have found 6 citizens who have breached the self-quarantine and have tried to leave through Rinas to their destination, from 01.01.2021 until 05.01.2021, during the interview and verification of persons leaving Albania.
However, the penalty notes were issued pursuant to the order of the Ministry of Health, dated 21.12.2020, on the prohibition of movement by air with Great Britain, where point 2 of this order states that persons who have traveled from the United Kingdom and enter Albania, are forced to self-quarantine for 14 days.
In the meantime, the Border Police services have kept a special register for these persons and have notified the relevant police stations of the cities where these citizens have residences.
On the other hand, The State Police appeals to all those citizens who have entered Albania during the last week of December 2020, from Great Britain, by land, sea or air, not to attempt to violate the mandatory self-quarantine. They will be punished with administrative measures according to the Normative Act and will not be allowed to move towards their destination without performing mandatory self-quarantine if they do the above, as underlined by the law and order.
“State Police appeals to all citizens to respect the anti-covid measures, putting on the mask and maintaining social distance, to respect the restrictive schedules for the stopping of movement of pedestrians and vehicles, while business owners must respect the safety protocols and the schedule for the mandatory closing of businessesâ€, called the authorities.
