Ambassador Yuri Kim reacted after the meeting she held with the chairmen of the Economy Committee, Eduard Shalsi and Sorina Koti. In a tweet, Kim says they discussed ways to increase US investment in Albania. 

The American diplomat says that clear rules must be established, transparent procedures and the courts in Albania must be clean, in order to attract as many investments as possible. 

Yuri Kim also gave a message about the justice reform, which she says should serve all Albanians.

"Thank you to the Chairman of the Committee for Economy & Finance Eduard Shalsi and Deputy Chairman Sorina Koti for the opportunity to hear about the Committee's priorities & to discuss ways to increase US investment in Albania. Clear, rational rules (including property), transparent procedures and clean courts are needed to attract more investments that benefit as many people as possible. 

American investors should know that in case of disputes, the courts in Albania will make a decision based on the law, not because of fear or honor. This is the link between law reform & business. 

Reform in justice is not only for justice - it is also for the well-being of more Albanians. It is for everyone - not just the rich and powerful - to have equal opportunities to improve their lives and the future of their children," US Ambassador wrote.
