The US Embassy has commemorated the tragedy of two years ago when a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck Albania on the morning of November 26, 2019. 

In a Twitter post, the embassy wrote that the US was proud to stay with Albanian friends to help that day. 

"Two years later, we remember that early morning when a devastating earthquake struck. We remember the 51 victims and honour the resistance of Albanians in the face of disaster. US was proud to stay with our Albanian friends to help on that day and ever since," the post reads.
