Young Footballer Adel Santana Mendy Killed in Marseille

The Aubagne FC club is in mourning. The resident of National 2 announces the death of his striker Adel Santana Mendy, only 22 years old, this Saturday on his Twitter account. According to information from BFMTV, he is the young man killed by a firearm in the city of the Mediterranean, in the 14th arrondissement of Marseille.
Hit twice, according to information from BFM Marseille, he was taken care of by the emergency services who were unable to revive him. The young man finally succumbed to his injuries this Friday evening around midnight. 27 cartridge cases of 7.62 mm were found on the spot. He was unknown to the police.

Trained at OM, he played with the club’s U19s from 2016 then with the reserve team, before leaving free in 2018. He then played in Andorra (Sant Julia) then in the English regional league (Langney Wanderers, a now defunct club, and Eastbourne) before returning to Provence with FC Côte Bleue and therefore Aubagne since last summer.
This season, he has played 10 matches in the league and one in the Coupe de France, for a goal scored, the last dating back to December 3. Aubagne’s next match is scheduled for January 8, against Chambéry in the 32nd round of the Coupe de France.
