Minister of Economy, Culture and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja

'Expo Albania' Project Presented

The Albanian Investment Corporation (AIC) is creating a new model of public property administration, orienting them towards development and creating new opportunities.

The Minister of Economy, Culture, and Innovation, Blendi Gonxhja, in a conference held in Tirana, presented on Monday the "Expo Albania" project, describing it as one of the "diamonds" in the investment chain, which is expected to be realized through AIC.

"It will be the most important center of fairs and exhibitions in the Balkans and will put Albania on the map of a rapidly growing industry: that of fairs and exhibitions", declared the minister.

Minister Gonxhja also said that the creation of this new development pole for the city, in an area near Tirana, will serve to distribute employment and development more widely in the territory of the capital.

On the other hand, the minister stopped at the "Durana Technopark" project, another AIC initiative. "In March, we proposed and completed the transfer of 140,000 square meters of land in Xhafzotaj to the Corporation, for the development of this major project. Also, we have actively supported the growth of AIC's asset portfolio, becoming initiators of the transfer of 28 properties and state lands for development and investment," he said.

Many AIC projects, including the project to provide a new and dignified environment for 22 institutions and over 10 thousand administration employees, said Gonxhja, will be supported by the Ministry of Economy.

The Minister also said that the year 2024 is marking an increase in all economic indicators.

According to him, the concretization of "Expo Albania", "Durana Technopark" and other projects of the Albanian Investment Corporation will help in the further consolidation of this positive trend in the economy, will promote foreign investments, employment, and innovation, will improve the quality of public services to citizens, as well as transform Tirana, and together with Albania, into the home of the most progressive architecture projects.

The industry of fairs and exhibitions, he said, represents a market worth tens of billions of euros and about 35,000 activities per year, which is growing rapidly, even three times more than five years ago.
