24 Years Since Krusha e Madhe Massacre with 243 Victims

Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, paid tribute this Sunday on the 24th anniversary of the massacre, in Krushë te Madhe.

Kurti praised all those who fell for freedom, calling them bright figures of the country. 

Furthermore, Kurti stated that it is the responsibility of the institutions and the citizens to come together so that the current and future generations do not go through the sufferings of the past.

"Today as institutions of the Republic, of the state with responsibility and as citizens of the state with awareness, we come together so that the current generation of children and the future generations of children who have not yet been born do not go through these sufferings, losses that we went through, but at the same time, to have a bright future in a Kosovo, a region of Europe, which is free, united and protected from any aggression", said Kurti. 

Krusha e Madhe commemorates today those killed and massacred by the Serbian forces, where women, children and the elderly were not spared. 24 years ago, specifically on March 25, 26 and 27, 1999, 243 people were massacred in the village of Krushë in Rahovec, while 893 private and social houses were burned. The massacre of Krusha e Madhe is one of the most shameful massacres, carried out on the civilian population and one of the massacres and mass murders that have been committed by the paramilitaries, the police and the occupying Serbian army throughout Kosovo.
