4 Tenders Suspended, Pandemic Impacts Road Projects
Four procurements worth ALL 6.1 billion for the construction of new roads that were opened in mid-October by Albanian Road Authority, turn out to be suspended, according to data from the Public Procurement Agency.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku last week, while speaking about the draft budget for 2021, complained that only 45% of the needs have been allocated for roads.
Referring to the data in the system of the Public Procurement Agency, the first suspended tender is the one for "Construction of TEG overpass road and its connecting roads", with a limit fund of about 1.5 billion ALL.
Suspended is the even the procedure opened on October 15, of Milot - Morine Highway with the Kukes Airport â€, with a limit fund of about 600 million ALL.
In the list of suspended tenders is also the "Supervision of Construction Works, Korca-Erseka road, Lot 2 (first part)".
And the most recent is the Palase-Drymades road, with a limit fund of 1.6 billion ALL or about 13 million euros.
ARA expected to receive bids for this road until November 23, but now the procedure remains frozen. This project was among those of the highest value and announced in the last 10 days of October.
