Albania, Powerful 5.2 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Korca

A magnitude 5.2 earthquake with an epicenter in Greece was felt in southeastern Albania causing strong tremors in Korça and surrounding areas. 

The seismic movement was recorded at 23:31:02 local time and lasted several seconds. The earthquake has caused panic and fear among citizens, who have left their homes, but no damage has been reported in advance. 

In recent years the country but also the region have been hit by several high magnitude earthquakes. We recall that on November 26, 2019, the earthquake that hit Albania caused 51 victims, over 1000 injured and left homeless thousand others.
