The member of the Technical Committee of Experts, pediatrician-infectious disease doctor Xhorxhina Kule said that 3,500 children have resulted positive, since the beginning of the pandemic in Albania.

In the meeting held by the Committee on Thursday, she spoke about the situation of Covid-19 in children at any age, of which, according to her only 5% of those infected have complications and have sought hospital help.

"We have registered about 3500 positive pediatric cases since the beginning of the epidemic. Only 5% of these cases have sought hospital assistance, which have presented respiratory complications or the multisystem inflammatory response. We have free capacity to hospitalize children if needed and also ongoing scenarios to assist in cases of increased demand for hospitalization. Cases of fatalities among children remain in the figure of one case that has been reported", she said.
