Albania, Bulgaria to Expand Co-op on Corridor 8 Project

Albania and Bulgaria aim to expand cooperation between the two countries, especially for the ambitious and very important road and rail infrastructure project of Corridor 8.

The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku in the meeting she held with the Minister of Transport of the Bulgaria, Georgi Todorov during the official meeting of the Albanian delegation in Bulgaria, led by Prime Minister Edi Rama, discussed all possibilities for cooperation between the two countries.

Balluku said that the special focus in this meeting was the ambitious and very important project for Corridor 8.

The Corridor 8 is one of the Pan-European corridors. It comprises both road and rail routes. Both commence on the Italian Adriatic coast at Bari or Brindisi, with a ferry crossing to Durrës in Albania. From there the routes cross the southern Balkans into Bulgaria and thence to Varna, on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
