Kosovo Police has announced that it has arrested a citizen from Albania, suspected of possession of almost 17 kilograms of narcotics. 

In the place where he lived, a suitcase with 31 packages of narcotic substance, a nylon bag with suspected narcotic substance of marijuana type, where the total weight had reached about 16,780 kg, were found and confiscated, as well as 100 euros, 2 mobile phones, 2 Albanian passports, 1 Kosovar identity card, 2 patents, one Albanian and the other Italian. 

"In the evening of 19.05.2022 in Prishtina, the Kosovo Police with units for the investigation of drug trafficking, after intensive investigations carried out the police operation "Lightning" which resulted in the arrest of the suspect A.K. a citizen of the Republic of Albania, who also possessed documentation of the Republic of Kosovo, on the grounded suspicion of possession (16,780 kg) of narcotic substance of marijuana type. 

Based on the order of the judiciary, the police operation continued with the control of the location where he lived, in which case a suitcase with (31) packages of narcotic substance, a nylon bag with suspected narcotic substance of marijuana type were confiscated, where the total weight had reached about 16,780 kg, and cash (100 euros), (2) mobile phones, (2) Albanian passports, (1) Kosovo identity card, (2) driver's license, one of Albania and the other of Italy ", it is said in the announcement.
