A young Albanian man together with a Greek friend lost his life after an accident they suffered while traveling on a motorcycle. 

Greek media report that 21-year-old Erdi Rushitaj along with his 17-year-old friend Mateos Karagiannakis lost their lives after the accident on the island of Crete.

The two young men were traveling with the motorcycle driven by the Albanian but then Rushitaj lost control of the vehicle and collided with a light pole on the side of the road. 

The 21-year-old Albanian lost his life immediately while the 17-year-old died after being transported to the hospital. At the scene, friends and relatives of the young people laid flowers and lit candles.
