Albanian Orderer of Assassinations Extradited to Belgium by UAE

Much-wanted from Elbasan Franc Çopja alias Franc Gergely, 31 years old, has been extradited from Dubai to Belgium following an international arrest warrant for "premeditated murder".

Based on media reports, Çapja, who also has several other names and surnames, was transferred to the relevant bodies according to the extradition agreement signed between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Belgium, after the legal and judicial process and according to the decision of the Minister of of Justice of the United Arab Emirates that approved the extradition on December 13, 2023.

Franc Çopja from Elbasan was arrested in Dubai at the end of last year.

He is suspected of ordering the murder of Arjan alis Ardit Spahi, 38 years old, which occurred on November 27, 2020 in Molenbeek, Belgium.

One of the three masked perpetrators shot seven more times at Spahiu from close range as he lay dying on the ground.

Gergely is said to be one of the three killers.

Spahiu was active in the drug trade.

At the time of his murder, his phone was being tapped by police in a major drug investigation. He had a drug laboratory in his house in Brussels, where cocaine was kept.

Investigation of which Spahiu was a part, has already led to a mega-operation in Brussels that is underway and where 124 people are on trial.

Spahi's murder is said to be part of a clash between Albanian drug clans in which several deaths have already occurred in Albania.

Another suspected author of Spahi's murder, the Albanian Mikael Qosja, has been in Dubai prison since the fall of 2022.

But to date it has not been extradited.

Qosja is suspected of a series of murders in Albania and is considered a major player in the drug world.

Spahiu is the brother-in-law of Erjon Alibej, who for years has been in open conflict with the Çapja brothers, which has caused the murder of several people in Elbasan and abroad.

Florenc Meçe in Spain and Elvis Murati in Germany were previously arrested for Spahi's murder.

Franc Çopja is also involved in an event that happened in 2017 in Katundi Ri in Elbasan, where two people were injured with firearms and one with hard objects.

At that time, his brother and several other people were arrested, while Franci was declared wanted.

Franc Copja alias Gergely lived in Dubai for several years, where it turns out that he also ordered a super luxurious villa in the area known as "Dubai Hills", the images of which together with the name of Franc Gergely were published by the company "Trans Fast Building Contracting ” in Dubai.

Franc Gergely landed in Zaventem yesterday morning.

He was extradited on a private plane after an airline refused to take him on the day before.
