Albanian Police Deportes 500 Citizens from Third Countries
About 500 foreign citizens from third countries have been deported from Albania.
This news is announced by the Border Police of Rinas, adding that the persons in question were suspected of the purpose of the trip.
The head of the Rinas Police Station, Përparim Dema, has stated that we are currently at the peak of the 2022 tourist season, during which, according to him, the flow is 50% more than during 2019.
Also, he announced that the Border Police services have captured about 80 foreign nationals wanted nationally and internationally.
"On our part, measures have been taken by adding services to manage the flow. New for this year are the e-gate devices, devices that help in border control procedures, processing up to 30% of passengers. Controls have also been increased to prevent and crack down on illegal activities at the border, where over 40 cases of forged documents have been cracked down during the tourist season. Different citizens have tried to enter or leave Albania, using forged documents. This is also thanks to the modern equipment recently available to the Border Police. Also, about 80 citizens were caught by the Border Police services in national and international search, cooperating with other structures of the State Police, mainly Interpol Tirana and FAST Albania. The measures have also been increased at the entrance of Albania, refusing entry to Albania to around 500 citizens of third countries, who have been suspected of the purpose of the trip. The Rinas commissariat has a specific weight in the processing of deported citizens, and for this year over 3,200 citizens were processed, who were mainly returned from Great Britain and France," empahsized Dema.
