Albanian Pregnat Woman Found inside Trunk, Greek Partner Arrested

Dead body of an Albanian woman, who had gone missing since December 31 in Greece, was inside a trunk in a wooded area between Triglia and Galatista, Halkidiki.

41-year-old Gheorgjia Murati was three months pregnant and had been missing since New Year's Day.

Responsible for the crime is suspected to be the partner of the 41-year-old woman, who allegedly killed her in his home in Thessaloniki.

Partner of the pregnant woman and a friend of his have been arrested after the testimony of the latter, who admitted that he helped her remove the body from the house and throw it in a wooded area.

The 41-year-old had a 13-year-old daughter and was three months pregnant.

Suspicions about the partner started after the footage from the cameras in the area, where he was spotted with his friend leaving the house with a luggage.

Apartment was then searched by the police where traces of blood and DNA were found.

The 41-year-old disappeared from her partner's home on New Year's Day.

As her boyfriend claimed, she sent him a text before disappearing saying: “Good morning love... I'm at home so see you later. Know that I know you are no longer working because of the lie I asked you to tell to be friends. I want to tell you something: I took money from your drawer... I know you need it, but it is a necessity. I will tell you personally. Please don't be mad at me… I love you”.

However, according to the family members of the pregnant woman, the message did not resemble her way of writing.

Her partner, who according to information has been an element of concern to the authorities in the past for cases of violence, has entered the center of Poliocia's investigations from the first moment.

In particular, his sister had reported that he had violent behavior and had beaten her five times.
