Albanian Wanted by Italy Arrested in Rinas

An Albanian citizen declared wanted by Italian justice was handcuffed this Monday in Rinas airport trying to leave Albania. 

It is about a citizen with initials B.Q., 41-year-old, resident in Tirane, who was declared wanted for the criminal offenses  "Criminal Organization" and "Armed robbery", provided by the Italian Criminal Code. 

"Thanks to the cooperation of the State Police with partners and law enforcement agencies, a citizen wanted in Italy has been handcuffed for armed robbery and participation in a criminal organization. 

The Border Police Services in Rinas, as a result of the strengthening of entry-exit controls, thanks to the continuous exchange of information between the OAG Interpol Tirana with the counterpart office in Interpol Rome / Italy, the Criminal Police Department and DRKM Tirana, made possible the arrest of Albanian citizen B.Q alias B.S, 41 years old, resident in Tirana. 

This citizen was declared internationally wanted by the Italian authorities, after the Court of Turin / Italy, in 2019, issued an arrest warrant for the criminal offense "Criminal Organization" and "Armed robbery", provided by the Italian Criminal Code. 

Summary of the event: The above citizen is accused of criminal organization in the field of burglary with the use of firearms. In the role of leader of the criminal organization he provided vehicles and weapons, with the intent to commit crimes. This citizen is also accused of possessing weapons in public. 

The provisional arrest was made for the purpose of his extradition to Italy, based on the "European Convention on Extradition" of 1957 and the Bilateral Extradition Agreement signed between the Republic of Albania and Italy", announced the Police.
