Alibeaj Gathers DP’s Parl. Group to Discuss New President’s Election

Chairman of the Democratic Party (DP) parliamentary group, Enkelejd Alibeaj will convene Thursday, at 12:00 the MPs on a meeting to talk about the process of selecting the new Head of State, the progress so far but also how the process will proceed.

On a message sent earlier on, Alibeaj has underlined that the gathering will take place at the blue headquarters following previous discussions on the matter.

"In continuation of the group discussions on the process of selecting the President, tomorrow at 12:00, at the headquarters, we will hold the next meeting of the group to discuss the progress so far and how we will proceed with the process", it is said in the message that Alibeaj sent to the Democratic MPs.

In the discussions on Wednesday in the Presidency of the Assembly between the leader of the Socialist party group Taulant Balla and Enkelejd Alibeaj, it was agreed that the proposals for the new name of the president be brought by the opposition until the third round.

According to Alibeaj, this right is given to them by the Constitution and not by the majority, while Balla stressed that the opposition should consult the names and bring them for discussion.
