Altin Dumani Elected New Head of SPAK

Altin Dumani has been elected the new head of the Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK). 

In the voting held this Friday in the High Council of Prosecution, Dumani received 5 votes of the members. While the other candidates, Adnan Xholi received 1 vote and Edvin Kondili received 4 votes. 

Altin Dumani will replace the current president of SPAK, Arben Kraja. Dumani will take the mandate of SPAK head on December 19. 

Adnan Xholi- 1 vote 

Altin Dumani- 5 votes 

Edvin Kondili- 4 votes 

The Chairman of the High Council of Prosecution, Alfred Balla, said that Dumani will take the mandate of SPAK head on December 19. 

"With 5 votes in favor, Mr. Altin Dumani is appointed head of the Special Prosecutor's Office. The mandate of Mr. Dumani will be 3 years without the right to re-election, starting from 19.12.2022 to 18.12.2025. Mr. Dumani and the Special Prosecutor's Office should be notified of this decision. Against this decision, an appeal can be made to the Administrative Court of Appeal no later than 5 days from the announcement of the decision," said Balla.
