Amazing View, Narta's Salt Evaporation Pond Turns Pink
Narta always offers fantastic views, sometimes with the creatures that live there and sometimes with the salt evaporation pond that gives the area a pink color.
The Light Studio Agency (LSA) has published on Sunday some fantastic photos of this area. In the period September-October, the area takes an amazing view because the water dries and only salt remains.
The salt evaporation pond covers today an area of ​​1.472 ha. The production of salt started in 1958. In the first years, the salt evaporation pond produced about 25-30,000 tons / year and employed about 250 people from the villages of the area and the city of Vlora.






Production increased in 1970 by 70,000 tons and employed up to 800 people. In 1975, the salt evaporation pond started marketing iodized salt with a capacity of 5,000 tons / year. Production reached its peak in 1975-1985 with a total of 140,000 tons of salt. At that time, the salt evaporation pond employed about 1250 people.
