Artan Hoxha Elected Tirana University Rector

Artan Hoxha has been elected Thursday Rector of the University of Tirana as he managed to receive 54 percent of the votes of professors and students. He registered as a candidate for Rector’s position in May, while he was still a Dean of Justice faculty.

The newly elected rector received 348 votes from professors and academic staff, while his opponents, Mimoza Hafizi received 176 votes, and Kozeta Sevrani secured 122 votes.

Earlier, Hoxha unfolded his platform and accused his forerunner Mynyr Koni of going against the entire academic structure of Tirana University. He believed that Koni had “turned against the whole structure that he has directed using mechanisms that do not do honor to an academic”.
