Ballsh Oil Workers Gather in Protest

Ballsh oil workers have gathered to protest again this Monday morning at the refinery as their work has not yet resumed.

They suspect the plant will be sold for scrap. One of them said, among other things, that there would be no meeting if there were no oil representatives on the table.

"It was built in the '70s. This is where many of the oil workers lost their lives. Even during the period that we were under the protection of the financial package offered by Mr. Rama, 15 colleagues passed away. This is the life of an oilman, who has taken phenols in the blood and carbon in the lungs and from Covid, many of our colleagues did not take that money to the children at home. Today we are faced with another fact that these cowards who come at night and bring containers here, do not come today to clarify what is the act-agreement they have made between the parties, banks and various companies that come to scrap the refinery. Let her come here, we address the minister, just as the Fier refinery was put up for auction, let this factory also happen, that it should come out with a parliamentary decision to declare Armo bankrupt, but they make decisions as if this company does not exist at all. They make decisions at night, not during the day. Decisions are made in Parliament. Let them say there is no future and let them close it. There will be no pair here without the oilmen at the table, everyone has it clear. These two have also removed two pumps," he said.
