Bardhi Reacts after Meeting of Re-Establishment Commission

Democratic Party MP, Gazment Bardhi has responded to the statements of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha for the reorganization inside the blue headquarters.

Through a social media post, Bardhi writes that the Re-establishment Commission is following a one-sided exclusionary process with appointments contrary to the statute at any local level.

According to him, this only serves Prime Minister Edi Rama and his regime. Further, Bardhi writes that these changes are intended to take the Democratic Party hostage.

"Stubbornly following the path of one-sidedness, exclusion and closure of the party, is not the path to union, but it is the path with only one direction: disruption. This road serves only Edi Rama and the strengthening of his regime.

Instead of reflecting, a group of self-elected individuals, and self-proclaimed party leaders, under the name of Commissars of the Re-establishment Commission, are pursuing a one-sided and exclusive process, ostensibly organizing the party, with appointments contrary to the Statute in any local party level. Excluded from this process are thousands of Democrats who have sacrificed more than anyone else these 8 years, simply because they have a different opinion from the commissioners.

This one-sided and divisive process is full evidence of a movement whose sole purpose is to take the DP hostage for the private purposes of an individual, to weaken the Democratic Party and to strengthen the regime of Edi Rama.

As has been proven these days, the DP and its officials have dozens of statements against the US and zero statements against Edi Rama. This shift of the battle from Edi Rama to the USA, shows what the DP will be like with a "non-grata" inside it.

There is no greater insult to a pro-Western party, that the party's press office officially distributes news against the US Secretary of State, instead of news and statements against the regime of Edi Rama.

The battle with the USA is not the battle of the Democrats or the Albanian citizens, who suffer every day from the misgovernance of Edi Rama. It is the personal battle of Mr. Berisha and should remain only his battle. Democrats need to have the US on their side, for their future and for Albania," Bardhi wrote.
