Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has paid homage on Wednesday, in the Presidency in honor of the former Head of State, Bujar Nishani, who passed away a few days ago in Germany, considering him one of his closest associates. 

At the end of the homage, in a statement to journalists, Berisha said that today Nishani is physically absent but is spiritually among the people, appreciating him for his contribution during the time he headed the president's institution.

"I was to express my greatest honor, to share with Odeta, Ersi and Fjona, the mourning of this great tragedy that has befallen them, their friends and relatives and all Albanian citizens who have seen in Bujar Nishani a exemplary citizen. 

Family, an excellent parent, a noble husband and father. The Albanian state, one of the most dignified statesmen in its entire history. 

Albanian society and Albanians, one of their most dedicated servants. Nishani for decades, has been one of my most precious associates, with whom I was connected not only by close cooperation, but also a perfect friendship, a friendship that never knew any kind of say decline, on the contrary, always came to get stronger. 

Memories of Bujar Nishani are many and today he is no longer physically among us, but the truth is that spiritually he is alive, he is eternally alive in my memory and all those who had the great fortune to know him as a collaborator, friend, of the family that had such a husband and parent and all Albanians. 

Therefore, and sharing today the pain and mourning in the Nishani family, his friends and relatives, I express my condolences to those Albanians who lost today the former head of state who gave great dignity to that task, to the institution of the President, but also to all Albanians", said Berisha.
