Berisha's Candidate for Mat Municipality Introduced
Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has gone to Mat, where he is presenting the candidate of the coalition "Together we win", Skënder Gjuci.
Berisha stated in the meeting that these elections have an extraordinary importance, the same importance as the elections of the 1990s. He adds that PM Edi Rama has 10% more power than the last dictator.
"Dear democrats of Mati, a hearty greeting in this fiery meeting, but I want to thank with great gratitude to all the people of Mati wherever they are. I also want to wish the Bektashians happy Sultan Nevruz. May God accept your fasting. We have gathered to express our trust in our future mayor Skënder Gjuci. On May 14, the citizens of Mati and the whole of Albania are invited to vote for the candidates they value the most. I want to emphasize that the candidates we present as an alliance are the first candidates in the history of this country who are not appointed by the leadership, but are chosen by you and I guarantee you that this is the most advanced form of freedom.
This is the most responsible way to decide in the local government. A year and a half ago, the democrats had the request that they appoint their representatives. I am pleased to come before you with this request. Whatever effort was made, I guarantee you that I stood by your side. Today we go openly in front of all voters, with Skënder Gjuci, with every candidate in Albania. I invite you to do anything to protect the values of our candidates, to do everything for their victory, it is the victory of your ideals, the victory of an Albania that does not accept monism.
These elections are really local, but these elections have an extraordinary importance, because they have the same importance as the elections of the 90s, because today we are also faced with a merciless monstrosity that is ruining this country. In history you know the greatest dramas of nations have been monisms and what we saw in the communist dictatorship was the most ruthless monism of Europe. Today Rama has 10% more power than the last dictator, controls every power, governs without respecting any law, any norm. Today, Edi Rama has turned his government into a genuine criminal organization, which on the one hand steals public assets every day, and on the other hand strengthens ties with crime.
All these have alienated Albania, caused the Albanians to leave. In 8 years, like in no other country, 33% of the population left, 937 thousand citizens in the EU alone. Meanwhile, Albania itself has the most fabulous coasts, hardworking people, a country blessed with waters. Mat is blessed with mines, waters and hardworking people," Berisha said.
