The supporters of the Prime Minister Sali Berisha set a Serbian Flag on fire and trampled on it. Following this action, they protested against Serbia and the Open Balkans. 

Following the call of Berisha, hundreds of Democrats responded by gathering together in front of the Prime Minister's Office at a time when Prime Minister Edi Rama is expected to hold a meeting in the coming hours with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic in Elbasan. 

Only Serbia, Albania and Northern Macedonia are involved in the Open Balkans initiative so far. Meanwhile, this initiative is seen with scepticism from other Western Balkan countries.
