Boats Blocked along Albanian Coast, Operators Punished

Police officers have blocked 3 boats in Saranda, Durrës and Shkodër as part of checks for the smooth running of the tourist season, specifically: two speedboats and a plastic boat. 

Vessels in question were blocked because they were sailing without the relevant necessary documents, while their operators were punished with administrative measures of 110,000 and 10,000 new ALL. 

In the meantime, the police have put the driver of the other boat under investigation after it turned out to be stolen in Australia, while checks and verifications continue throughout the coastline of the country to guarantee the implementation of the law by everyone. 

"In the place called "Nose of the Navy", Sarandë, a plastic boat was blocked, because its driver did not have the certificate for exercising the activity as an economic operator in the field of tourism, as well as because he did not have the documents on board necessary for going to sea. For these violations, the driver of this vehicle was punished with 2 administrative measures, with a total value of 110,000 new lek. 

In the port of Durrës, as a result of the verification actions carried out in cooperation with the German counterparts, the boat was blocked, driven by citizen F. L., 41 years old, resident of Shijak, as it is suspected that this boat was stolen in Australia. For the 41-year-old, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings began in a free state for the criminal offense "Trafficking of motor vehicles". At the direction of the Durrës Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue for the full legal documentation of this case. 

In the lake of Shkodra, a boat was blocked, as its driver did not have on board the necessary documents for going out to sea. For this violation, the driver of this boat was punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 new lek", announced the police.
