Budget Revenues Increase by 12.5% y/y in Feb

The preliminary performance of consolidated fiscal indicators for February 2025 reflects the positive progress of revenue collection and expenditure realization.

The Ministry of Finance announced on Thursday that total revenues for February reached about Lek 117.3 billion and general public expenditures, for the second month of 2025, reached about Lek 93.8 billion.

According to data published by the Ministry of Finance: Total revenues, for February 2025, reached about Lek 117.3 billion or 102.4% of the plan for the period. Compared to the same period a year ago, about 13 billion more or 12.5% ??more Lek was collected.

Tax revenues were realized at Lek 44.1 billion, Lek 6.4 billion or 17% more than in February of last year. While the plan was exceeded by Lek 1.5 billion.

The item that has had the greatest impact on this performance is VAT collected (net), with realization at Lek 16.1 billion, or 17% more than February 2024.

Revenues from social and health insurance also increased by 11.6%, which were realized at Lek 30 billion, Lek 3.1 billion more than in February 2024.

Personal income tax was collected at Lek 13.5 billion, Lek 3 billion more than February 2024, and Lek 1.3 billion more than the plan. These two items were affected by the salary increase reform in the public administration. Meanwhile, national taxes, for the period February 2025, were realized in the amount of Lek 8.1 billion.

Customs revenues also had a positive performance, which was realized in the amount of Lek 33.6 billion, Lek 1.7 billion or 5.3% more than February 2024.

Total public expenditures, for the second month of 2025, reached about Lek 93.8 billion with a realization of 92.8 percent of the plan for the period, while compared to the same period of 2024, this item resulted in Lek 10.1 billion more.

Capital expenditures, for the 2-month period of 2025, resulted in about Lek 3.1 billion, while compared to the same period of a year earlier, this item resulted in Lek 1.9 billion more or about 150.6 percent higher.
