Center against Violent Extremism Organized 'Football for Peace' Program Session

Coordination Center against Violent Extremism has organized an activity at the "Leonik Tomeo" school and the complex of the "Teuta" Sports Club in the city of Durrës, bringing together the U16 team of "Teuta" and children from the community, aged 9-16.

Activation of children in theoretical discussion sessions on teamwork, cooperation, mutual support, respect and resilience is organized within the youth program "Football for Peace" in cooperation with the Coordination Center against Violent Extremism, in the Ministry of the Interior, The Institute for Activism and Social Change and the Directorate of Sports and Youth, in the Municipality of Durrës.

Denion Meidani, director of the CVE Coordination Center, Gentian Cani, former footballer, businessman and manager of the well-known footballer and captain of the Albanian national team Lorik Cana, Alen Sheri, captain and goalkeeper of this year’s Albanian Football Cup winner “Egnatia” FC, shared the models with the children positive of success.

Also, a well-known football figure from the city of Durrës, master Fatmir Hima, took part in the meeting.

After the theoretical sessions and discussions, all together, children and football players, entered the sports fields and engaged together with the coaches in training.

Following this, the pilot program is finalized with a closing activity and the certification of 50 children for participating in the "Football for Peace" program.

This activity will be organized at the "Ramazan Njala" Sports Palace, on June 22, 2023, 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Durrës. This activity will be open to the public.
