Suspected Killer of Police Officer Found Hiding in Surveillance-Equipped Safe House

Authorities have uncovered the hideout where the suspected killer of police officer Enea Mekolli had allegedly been evading law enforcement.

According to investigators, the location was equipped with security cameras and is believed to have served as a safe house for 43-year-old Violand Braçellari while he remained on the run from police.

Braçellari is suspected of killing Officer Enea Mekolli and wounding fellow officer Edison Adri during the incident that sparked a large-scale manhunt.

Police sources say the suspect had been wanted by authorities in Vlora since 2017 and had previously been sentenced to more than nine years in prison on drug-related charges.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to gather evidence and establish the full circumstances surrounding the case.
