A person has been arrested after he was caught with a sum of money suspected of being counterfeit. According to the press release, the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana informs that it has seized an amount of 232,000 ALL of various coins. 

Citizen R.K., a resident of Tirana, has been placed in handcuffs. 

"Forgery of coins, Tirana Prosecutor's Office seizes 232,000 ALL, one arrested.

In the context of criminal proceedings no. 6877/2022, the decision of the Tirana Judicial District Court no. 12258, dated 28.10.2022, has been executed, for the assignment of the coercive personal security measure "arrest in prison" for the citizen R. K., born and resident in Tirana. 

This citizen, in cooperation with another citizen whose identification is being worked on, are suspected of committing the criminal offense of "forgery of coins" from Article 183/2 of the Criminal Code. 

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance, together with the judicial police services, have documented this illegal activity, and within the framework of this proceeding, the monetary amount of 232,000 ALL of various denominations, as well as 50 euros, suspected of falsified," the Prosecution said.
